When getting into guitar you need to realize this is a lot of work and a long road. You need to have a strong desire to play the instrument. Guitar is not easy. If you can over come these facts then you are ready to practice guitar.
Set as much time as you can everyday and constantly challenege yourself. There are many aspects of guitar so when practicing divide the time up into sections. For example, spend 30 min learning songs, 30 min studying theory, 30 min on scale excersises, 30 min on learning material with your ear and 30 min on sight reading. These are just a few pillars to the foundation of guitar. Every now and then try and get together with other musicians and play music. Playing with people is a huge part of playing music as well as a great drive to continue playing guitar. The exciting thing about practicing guitar is you see results immediatly. You will constantly get better as there are no limits in music.
